How has COVID-19 impacted the company / business?
COVID-19 has had a twofold impact on our business. Since majority of our interactions with customers or training for customers were face to face, a lot of those had to stop, be rescheduled or be transitioned to an online mode (which was super exciting for us as well). But, that’s where the opportunity also kicked in. We took the chance to explore online interactions with customers, taking our training online, coming up with alternative methods of engagement, devising plans for team meetings, huddles and much more!
During these times, we realized that all it takes is discipline, motivation and passion to keep your drive intact and keep things going! We have discovered tools that we never knew existed and have so far, kept up with things and tried our best to meet our customers’ expectations and keep them happy.
What are some of the adjustments you had to make in order to minimize disruptions?
Since a lot of our customer training were face-to-face, we had to shift our equipment home and convert all of those training online. We also started using more online tools to collaborate, delegate, and manage the team to ensure that day-to-day operations are smooth!
Last but not least, we incorporated more team huddles and online get-together to keep in touch and keep the team morale high so they stay motivated!
Name one technology / platform which you find useful in these times and why?
One platform which we use internally for task management is Asana: this has helped us keep track of what everyone is doing and our daily routines – all in a very organized manner. The platform is very easy to use and can be incorporated into team operations very easily.
Are you currently working from home? If so, how has it been in terms of efficiency?
Yes – it’s equally efficient (no impact!)! Initially, the efficiency tapered down a bit as we were trying to get used to working from home especially adjusting to managing what would have been on-site projects / training for our customers. But within a few days, we managed to pivot all our interactions and daily team activities to be online. Our efficiency and motivation levels were not affected due to the quick and successful adjustments.
Any shout-outs / rants you would like to add on?
Use this time to know your team better, create new opportunities and keep yourself motivated at all times! And don’t forget to exercise! 😉
